Katherine Longbottom darted down the hall as fast as her unathletic legs could carry her. Tears were streaming from her eyes which were already bright red. She was certain her sobs could be heard in all the rooms she was running past, but she didn't care. She knew where she was headed. Kat burst through the door the the music room at last, tears streaming steadily down her cheeks, gasping deeply for breath.
Kat looked around the room through her tear-blurred eyes. It was the same as it always was. The walls were papered with old sheet music, the kind that's yellow with age and chrinkles when you shuffle it around. There was a thin golden rail that went around the room, and on one wall was a magnificent grand piano on a full-sized stage. Kat walked to the piano and sat on the bench, still sobbing. Her favorite song of the week, Georgia On My Mind, was playing softly in the background and she mumbled the words between sobs.
Suddenly realizing that she could really use a kleenex, Kat looked around the room. A box appeared on a shelf along the opposite wall. The box had a great big treble clef on it and a random assortment of musical artistry. It was then that Kat realized she could really use a friend. Perhaps one of her fellow pranksters to help plot her sweet revenge. No one make Katherine Longbottom cry and got away with it.

With a flick of her blonde locks, Elizabeth Weasley ducked out of the Gryffindor Common room and took off down the hall, a small duffle bag hoisted over her shoulder. One hand was placed on the strap of the bag to keep it from slipping while the other laid on her chest, fingers running over the necklace of bottle caps she currently wore. Her mothers necklace. Elizabeth's slender fingers bounced from bottle cap to bottle cap with each step, a small jingling noise following her where ever she went.
As she neared her destination Elizabeth slowed and began to lower her bag to the floor. With a quick glance up and down the hall she pulled her hair up into a pony tail and placed her wand between her teeth. Reaching into the bag Elizabeth pulled out a pair of matching, pink ballet slippers. She quickly slipped them on and placed her other shoes in the bag.
Lifting the bag and swinging at her waist she pushed open the door to the music room. She hummed quietly to herself as she dropped her bag and made her way to the wall with the golden rail. As she reached the bar and turned a small gasp escaped her lips and her eyes widened. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" She exclaimed, a hand placed to her chest as she examined whom it was who had scared her. "Are you.. alright?" She asked, noticing the other girls tear stained face.
[[ i don't know what our girls' relationship is going to be. Should Katy and Eliza be friends or no?]]

[It's actually Kat, and I think they should be pretty close. Kat is pretty close to most of her family. And they are cousins. Perhaps best friends-ish?]
Kat jumped a little as a girl entered the room. She recognized the girl at once as her cousin Elizabeth. Elizabeth was Kat's favorite cousin, but Kat decided not to say anything. Elizabeth crossed the room quietly, stepping lightly, her blonde hair tied back in a tight pony tail. It made quite the contrast to Kat's own hair which was a vivid red and was currently sticking out at odd angles.
Elizabeth turned and finally saw Kat on the piano bench crying. "Oh! I'm so sorry! Are you.. alright?" Elizabeth asked. Kat took another kleenex from the box and blew her nose loudly before throwing it in the ballet-shoe-shaped trash can. She then took another kleenex and wiped the tears off her face. An awkward silence grew between her and her cousin as Katherine sat sobbing at the piano.
"I'm alright," Kat tried to say once she had almosted stopped the tears. Unfortunately, the effort brought on a sob and a new wave of tears. Katherine turned on the bench and stretched out her fingers on the keyboard. She had learned to sing by playing around on the piano. She knew quite a bit about chords and stuff. She played a minor chord in the lower register with her left hand and diddled around with her right hand before turning around to look earnestly at her cousin. Kat was no good at communicating with words. She usually depended on pranks and music to do the talking for her.

[[Mmkay, sounds pretty amazing to me. Best friends, totally.<3]]
Elizabeth's hand dropped to her side as she walked to where her cousin was sitting. Her brow wrinkled with concern as she slipped her small arms around Kat's shoulders, squeezing tightly. Stepping back she slipped into the empty space on the bench next to Kat and watched as she played a small little tune on the keys.
"Who was it?" Elizabeth asked, her voice carrying a hint of anger as she folded her arms over her chest. Elizabeth was a very family-oriented girl and couldn't stand to see any of them in any pain at all, let alone her favorite cousin. And the best way to take care of whom ever it was harrassing said cousin was pranking. Not only did it get who ever it was back, but it was also a great way to get your spirits up.
Elizabeth and Kat had a long history of pranking together, they'd do it on their siblings at all the family gatherings. Of all her family Elizabeth would have to say that Kat was the most fun and her favorite. She placed a comforting arm around Kat's shoulders playing a quick, simple tune on the piano with her other hand. Elizabeth had never been the most musicaly inclined but Kat had still taught her a thing or two on the piano none the less.

Kat looked up at Elizabeth, looking a little more cheerful. She could only take that little piano doodle to mean pranking. A smile broke through Kat's tears as she began to anticipate the coming prank. "I s-saw S-sirius with that g-girl again." Kat sobbed, turning to her favorite cousin and best friend. "They're alw-ways together."
Kat couldn't help it. A new, more violent stream of tears began to cascade down her cheeks. She honestly had no idea why she cared so much. She and Sirius were just friends, so why did it always make her feel so wretched to see him with that girl? "Why do I even c-care?" Kat asked her cousin, sobbing harder than before. She took another kleenex and wiped her nose before lobbing it into the trash can.

Elizabeth scowled at the mention of Kat's good friend, Sirius. That boy had been causing Katherine to cry more times then not lately and it didn't make Elizabeth happy. It rather pissed her off. It didn't help much that Sirius was always all over his latest girlfriend and constantly talked about her like some love sick puppy. Elizabeth shook her head, a few stray locks flinging at her face. It was about time Sirius paid for Kat's tears.
"We can sneak you into the Gryffindor Common room, I'm sure you'd fit into my extra uniform. " Elizabeth began, her mind already working to figure out the latest prank. She tucked a lock of Kat's brilliant red hair behind her ear and smiled at her. She turned her gaze to the wall behind Kat and stared a moment, lost in her own thoughts. "He doesn't get back until late after dinner. Boys dorm..." Elizabeth squinted slightly as she tried to recall the times when she had paid attention to Sirius' arrival into the Gryffindor Common room. Which weren't many.

Kat smiled slightly. She knew Elizabeth knew all about her thing with Sirius, and would be more than happy to help Kat plot her revenge. "We c-could stick dung b-bombs in his b-bed. Then, when he went to b-bed, he would end up in a st-stinky m-mess." Kat struggled, trying to control her sobs. Kat knew it wasn't her best plan ever, nor was it nearly as embarrassing as her usual pranking.
Katherine struggled to think of something more her style, but honestly couldn't. She supposed it was best that way anyway. Then, Sirius wouldn't know it was her who was behind it. Kat wished she could get back at that girl though. Perhaps a guy who smelled like dung would do the trick. Who knew? Kat picked up another kleenex and blew her nose as she thought hard about what else she could possibly do. This was always the hardest part of pranking: finding the perfect prank for the perfect time on the perfect day.

"Dung bombs. Yeah, yeah." Elizabeth mumbled as she continued staring blankly at the wall, her mouth moving with silent words as she ran things over in her head. Elizabeth had a bad habit of doing that, spacing out and muttering things to herself when she got lost in deep thought. Sometimes she'd hear people whispering about "Loony Lovegood" when she'd do this, but she really didn't care. Elizabeth turned her blank gaze to Katherine and blinked slowly as a small smile played across her lips.
"Mmm. Yes, dung bombs. He'll probably think it was one of the boys, wont even know it was us." She said, waving her free hand around in the air. She leaned slightly into her cousin as she turned her eyes to the back wall once again, as if she had something written on there and was reminding herself of what to say. "No, we don't want him to know. We aren't going to go after him, we're going after 'his' girl." Elizabeth informed Kat, tilting her head as she smiled at her. "She is a bit snotty, huh?"
[[So, who is Sirius' 'girl'? I don't think it said in the plot. We should decide that and add it into the plot, or something. I have some ideas for the plot and will re-write it and then send it to you and you can tell me wether or not you like it.]]

Katherine couldn't help but smile as she watched Elizabeth deep in thought. Elizabeth in thought looked so comparably different from Katherine in thought who in turn looked so different from normal people in thought that if you didn't know the pair, you'd probably think Elizabeth was skitsophrenic and Katherine wasn't thinking anything at all. "She is really snotty," Kat said, her voice slicing like a knife. "If I'm ever talking to Sirius, and she happens to see, she comes and sits between us with a smug little smile at me. And, if she's in a really good mood, they'll start snogging. Right there in front of me! We deffinately want to get back at her."
Kat stood and started pacing. That was usually the only visual cue that let on that she was deep in concentration. Even then, she only paced if is was very, very important. Usually she just sat there with a blank expression that mimicked one of a person about to doze off. Thoughts zipped through Kat's mind. If only she could figure it all out. She then started tugging on her hair. This habit came only after the pacing was well underway. It usually pulled ideas from the back of her brain forward. "I don't know," Kat muttered, more to herself than to her cousin. She was starting to become frustrated. It was all that stupid girl's fault. If only Kat could find a way to make her look less stunningly beautiful. That would show her.
That was it! "I've got it," she exclaimed loudly, surprising herself a bit. "Uncle Fred and Uncle George have that potion out now, that one that makes the drinker grow warts all over their face. It only lasts 48 hours. We should slip some in her drink. That would show her! And no one would suspect us, since everyone around school's doing it. Well, okay, maybe not, but still," Kat reasoned, more with herself than with Elizabeth. That's what Kat did when she was formulating a prank. She tended to verbally work it all out with herself, but only when there were other people in the room.
